Venice, Bridge of Sighs

This drawing is of the famous bridge which connects the interrogation room in the Doge’s palace with the “New Prison” on the other side of the Rio di Palazzo. The name of the bridge supposedly stems from the sighs emitted from prisoners as they saw the world around them when crossing the bridge for the last time.
